Description:

In every child’s heart there is the desire to succeed and to do well.  For some children, educational success comes harder and less frequently than they would choose.  Star Ranch Summer Camp is designed to help those children with learning differences find success.  We consider learning differences to be anything that interferes with a child’s successful academic experience, including (but not limited to) ADD, ADHD, LD, and ED.

Star Ranch is similar to other camps in the fact that we teach Christian values an offer many fun activities.  The similarities end there.  Star Ranch is geared specifically toward this group of children.  Our focus is on building self-confidence, experience and independence in children.  Important aspects of our program include:

Non-competitive activities and games will allow campers to learn and improve skills while having fun!

STRUCTURED ACTIVITIES 

Well-planned and organized activities are designed to make campers successful.

1:3 COUNSELOR TO CAMPER RATIO
One counselor for every three campers.  This offers the two things our campers need the most - Attention and Supervision.

EDUCATION PROGRAM
Each day, campers will participate in games, experiments and other fun activities that will reinforce educational goals and skills learned at school.   Our goal is to show children that they can be successful students.

LIMITED TO 50 CAMPERS A SESSION 

Our limited camper numbers enable us to create a nurturing camp community.

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT
Counselors are trained to praise campers for all of the things they do right while lovingly encouraging correction for actions done in error.  This will encourage campers to make the best choices while not singling others out for making a bad choice.

WELL TRAINED STAFF
Carefully screened and specially trained to care for our campers specific needs to give your camper a great experience and you a comforting peace of mind. We work with our type of child year round in our residential treatment center.
