Description:
Located on Lake LBJ in Marble Falls, Texas (an hour west of Austin), Camp Champions' focus is to help campers grow into the champions God intends them to be. While we don't offer a particular religious emphasis, camp life focuses on the 4 R's--Respect, Responsibility, Risk and Reaching Out. Over the course of one of our 3-week (or 2-week) terms, our goal is to help campers discover their strengths; to guide them to follow their strengths throughout their lives, and to encourage them to use their strengths to serve others. Our counselors make our mission possible. Carefully screened from universities throughout the Southwest, and trained over the course of 2 weeks prior to camp, they provide the fun, energy and character needed to model how a champion should live. Our program is traditional--lake activities like swimming, sailing and skiing (the perennial favorite), are complemented by land sports, archery, riflery, kayaking, ropes/climbing, dance, arts & crafts and horseback. Our traditions also play a major role in helping campers build character and understand the idea of living like a champion. Events like Torchlight, Grateful Deeds and Trojan/Spartan games reinforce the 4 R's that we emphasize. We offer age-appropriate experiences for kids ages 7-14 (finishing 8th grade); but campers can come to camp throughout high school, to participate in programs to develop their leadership qualities and their ability to work with children. Helping kids grow into champions is our focus--everything we do is built around this mission. We'd love to send you more information, and talk to you further about what we do!
