Description: A typical day at TASIS involves an intensive mixture of academics, sports, and activities. We offer a rigorous and challenging variety of courses from innovative and exciting Theatre Arts classes to intensive English language classes. During the afternoon we utilize our extensive sports facilities and the coaching skills of our faculty to offer an active sports program. After dinner and study time, our counselors put together an invigorating offering of evening activities. In the dormitories, before “lights-out” is a time to get to know other young people from different cultures and backgrounds, a time to practice English, or help those who are just learning. Weekends, too, find TASIS students experiencing full and exciting days, but now the theme is travel. With theatre trips to famous productions in the West End, and day and overnight trips to Stratford, Bath, Brighton, Oxford, Wales, the Lake District, London, and many other destinations, students have the opportunity to see and experience the famous cities, plays, and sites of Great Britain. A highlight of the program is the final banquet and the memorable riverboat disco cruise along the Thames, with the historic buildings of London floodlit in the background.
A summer at TASIS is truly intense, and our Programs have always attracted bright and adventurous students who want to be challenged and excited, students who, most certainly, will one day be the leaders of our world. As can be seen by the quotations in this booklet, it is an unforgettable experience, one that will bring new friends, new experiences, new knowledge, and, perhaps most important of all, a new awareness of the world in which we live.
